My favorite is Dearest Valentine and with a special reason. It reblooms here (a rarity) and this photo was taken in August on a rebloom scape during a heat wave. There are three blooms! there. It sure is holding its own.

I was talking about how I missed this double last year and ordered it again right before the cold snap killed all my Evergreens. Then I remembered why I don't buy them. I only managed to get one picture during the chaos that is the garden in June here.

DWG performs very well for me. It is tall and increases well. I've only had it for 3 years and I sold a piece of it last year. Most of Margo's and Jim's intros do well in my garden. I get about 15 to 18 buds per scape and that is in full sun.

Daveo Holeman, a beautiful but extremely poor performer. Moved it to beside my trash can a couple of years ago which is next to the road. If it blooms, it blooms.

Here is our Dances with Giraffes. We haven't had it long enough for it to reach its full potential.

Dappled Dynamo doesn't make much of a clump. The color is subtle--varying degrees of stippling--and the flowers are small. It does bloom like crazy. It starts early and is often the last flower in the garden.

Here's our Dearest Valentine. This upcoming season will be its third one. We hope to see many lovely flowers from this.

Dennis Russell is one that was hard to find at a reasonable price. In the end, I paid more than I probably should have, but I am not disappointed.

Dragon's Orb is one of those tiny diploids.

Dribble or Shoot was planted just last spring. I think it shows a lot of promise.

David: I like that bonus Deep Sea Shark.....Brad: what a good clump shot of Desert Icicle......Nan: Dribble or Shoot does look good..........Debra: Dearest Valentine can change shades of pink for me. On occasion it is more of the "meaty" rose red, but during our heat it seems to go more towards the pink color which I like best. I'd be proud as punch to have put my name as hybridizer on this one.................Maryl

Double River Wye. Wish I had taken a pic of a better formed individual bloom.

Designer Delight is quite prolific for me.

Something about the texture and subtle color variation along with its sturdy size makes Destin Dreamin one of my favorites.

Sikes produced some nice eyed cultivars. I wonder if Destin Dreamin is the registered height of 35 inches.

Steve - Designer Delight is one I've never seen before. It's very prolific for you. Destin Dreamin is a pretty one!

Thanks, I haven't actually measured it, but Destin Dreamin is tall and thick and a great grower and bloomer for me here. Definitely seems 3' tall, although it is planted a few inches above the sidewalk. I guess it would be good in the back, but I planted it right next to the sidewalk, lol.

Dark Witch looks interesting. That clump of Double River Wye looks good in front of the Shasta daisy. Ideally, daylilies should be grown amidst other perennials, as Bennett did in his garden. Dance Again is one I haven't noticed before.

Desire of Nations is an important hybridizing plant, but has been disappointing as a garden plant. Slow growth and late spring freezes are probably responsible for recent subpar bloom.

Dream Sequence, vigorous and showy

Dankie --limited bud count, but a softly alluring shade

Darker Shade--darker and more purplish, but a difficult shade to capture

Duel Zone --a nice bitone, though plant habit is not ideal

Drums Along the Mohawk

Dennis Russell --a nice plant, though not the quality of Glowing Quasar

Dixieland Band has been a consistent and colorful later bloomer in recent years.

Deep Dark Secret was nice this past year.

The cream pink watermark of Dr. McGregor's Garden is very appealing.

Dark Gethsemane --we shall see

Drew Hoo looks very promising

Dragon Nation is vigorous, used a lot by Mary Baker in hybridizing.

Mantis: I like the looks of Dennis Russel in your picture. I grew Glowing Quasar and although it had good qualities (including being sunfast), it never produced that many flowers in the 3 seasons I grew it. It died (I'm sure everyone is tired of hearing this by now) during last Feb's Arctic front, and I didn't replace it. What do you see as the difference between the two?.......................Maryl
