Agree about the large art in the dining room, but I think a round dining table is needed too. Wall mount TV above the credenza that's under the art. Art at the mantel should be no wider than the firebox opening below. You need table/floor/accent lighting so you can dim the ceiling light once you're in the room. The ambient light above is too harsh and lamps will add a cozy, inviting feeling. You need a larger rug since leggy chairs should be entirely on it to feel grounded.

You have a lot going on in your small space. There seems to be a problem with the scale and balance in your room. You have several big pieces of furniture and a bunch of small pieces that are working against each other making your space look cluttered and not cohesive. I would remove the blue chairs and the small square ottoman and replace the coffee table with something a bit bigger and chunkier to balance the scale of your couch and grey chair. I would also replace the console with one that is much wider and covers more of the wall. The console should have doors and/or drawers with no open shelving. Keep everything put away to cutdown on the clutter. A bigger console will balance the large artwork (so keep that) and will be of similar scale as the grey chair and couch. If you need more seating when entertaining you can use your dining chairs. Your dining table is way too big, I’d replace with a smaller round table to fit directly under the light fixture. Removing the smaller furniture and the clutter will make your room feel larger and and more spacious.

Who wants to come over and sit in a wood dining chair? Maybe remove the small blue chair by the door, but it actually looks like they “live” there.

@Stacey thanks again! we are definitey considering moving the small blue chair by the door. it’s an antique from my grandma so it holds some sentimental value and my husband loves sitting on it to put his shoes on lol but I’m sure we could figure out another solution to that! I appreciate your feedback!

This "rule" could be broken to great effect.

How opening connect to wall art above width ? Sounds weird.

@Celery. Visualization, Rendering images thank you! My initial thought was to move the painting over the fireplace and put the tv above the console but Im outnumbered and more people want to keep it where it is so im trying to come up with other solutions!

My very first thought was to switch the tv with the painting! Seems the tv is pretty high for viewing. I think your gut is right.

IMO a waider console also a bit lower it eh perfect place for the TV I never place a TV obver the FP unless there is truly no other option I also hate corner FPs and often just ignore them in furniture layouts I noyour room the sofa already faces the wall where the TV should go. A TVi sbest hwen wll mounted above a consolde that is wider than the TV and keeps the center of the screen at eye level when you are seated you have th eperfect spot to do so. As for art above the FP it is not my fave since it also places art at the wrong height since the center of the piece should bea t eyelevel too. A bit of nice decor on the mantel is all that is needed place that nice piece in the DR.

Well my advices would be only "small". I 'm ok with the big picture. However i would remove the small one between fireplace and the terrace door (as this feels crowded and not symetrical to doors). I would even keep blue chairs as they give the unique sensitive atmosphere, however I 'd remove all pillows from that blue chairs (I think it could release mess and bring clear elegancy). Ideally if you can upholster the grey chair in the blue one. Another "minimum" change would be the identical decoration on furniture, side table and dinning table. If you put the same "pieces" it will bring the right rythm to the space. Decoration should be not small (you can try that white candels too, but it is not very "original", but I'm sure you can find st best later on. Blue curtains could bring impression and dramma but I 'm not sure whether you desire for dramma :)
