Drapery Suggestions Please

We are renovating our new home (built in 1927). So we have focused projects on other rooms that need more attention. However, please help with drapery suggestions for these two rooms. Thank you!

Thank you so much! i will definitely give your suggestions a try! I was unsure of the needlepoints in that spot, so I will change that out along with the mirror and sofa. The dining furniture was left behind by the seller. It's a bit heavy for my taste, but she wanted us to have it and it not be sold in the estate sale. The mirror may be the perfect solution for adding balance. Thank you!

So, oddly enough, the piano must stay where it is. It is the orginal piano purchased by the owners who built this home. Mr. Clouse built the home in 1927 and the piano was purchased for his wife in 1933. The family lives in our community and when they found out we had purchased the home , they invited us to view the piano to see if we were interested in having it. Long story short they shared photos of the piano in the home and we decided that we would put it exactly where it sat originally. So, although, it is not ideal placement for playing and acoustics, we love the idea that it is now "home" after all of these years. I do appreciate and agree with your tips on it! But, we are going to sacrifice that one oddity for sentimental reasons :) . Thank you again for your suggestions!

Just wanted to share the fireplace area. This was taken after I took my tree down. So, the sofa, plant, and nut cracker were temporary. The nutcracker has been put away, but I still do not have a place for the gold sofa. Just to give you a better idea of the blank slate. So you are saying to hang 2 needlepoints on each side of the fireplace? Thank you again!

When you say hang the mirror to balance the china cabinet, did you mean above the buffet or remove the buffet and put the mirror in its place?

I'd use cream colored drapes for all the windows that match the cream paint color in your rooms. Try the small loveseat in an L configuration with the sofa, placed under the window, leaving just the plant in the corner by the fireplace. It makes a better conversation area.
