On my monitor it doesn't look like the drapes go with the wall color well. It looks like a cool/warm issue. The bottom line is that if it doesn't look right to you that is reason enough to want to do something about it. Was the room due to be painted? How do the drapes look with the carpet? Is there another room in your house where you could use the drapes? I know custom drapes are expensive, so I hope there is a good solution.

Yes I've been wanting to paint the room anyway. I have white white bedding, so I thought it would look good. It's just not a stark white, it has a drabby look to it for some reason. I'm not sure if it's the wall color or carpet or the blackout lining that's making it look like that. Attaching 2 more pics with the drapes closed with light on and off

I think the drapes are fine. Repainting is the cheapest and easiest solution if you want to make a change- and the walls dont have to be white.

I think it is the lining making that drab grey look. Do they have to be blackout? Can you just keep some shades for darkness?

What color is the blackout lining? I have my home interior painted Benjamin Moore's Chantilly Lace, and I ordered custom drapes in (pure) white faux silk with blackout lining. The lining is white (as well as thick and heavy) so the drapes are white. There is no hint of gray or beige at all.

With the drapes closed it looks more obvious to me that the issue is the wall color. Since the drapes create a white wall and your bedding is white I would definitely not paint the walls white as that would be too much of that (at least for my taste) and you would have a lot of trouble finding the right white. You now have the opportunity to use any one of many colors, depending on the effect you want to achieve and which colors you like. If you respond here with what you're leaning towards you will get many suggestions, or get some samples from Samplize or your retailer and start trying things out.

It would not bother you if you bring more light in room.

Thanks ladies your insight is very helpful. I was leaning towards a white paint, but sounds like that's a bad idea. I'm thinking a light gray since eventhough you can see it in the picture, my side tables are gray.  Maybe agreeable gray by Sherwin Williams? I had this in my old house and loved it.

Also the blackout lining is white,  but it has a bit of grey in it which I think is coming through

Wow I love rooms with big windows. U can make it really luxurious just take your window treatment up to ceiling n corner to corner. In fact I think you have windows on side walls aswell . It would be great if you cover all that area in curtain. One more thing your curtain rod is looking very thin to me. I am adding a pic for your refrance which has almost same colour n type of curtains as yours. Try to match colour of walls as of your curtains not too dark Beige but not too white aswell. I would look at getting a more substantial drapery rod that goes with your pretty light fixture, and hang it slightly higher to get drapery off the floor. Consider exploring another soft color paint for the walls, maybe agreeable gray you mention or perhaps accessible beige.

Lovely windows! I noticed your drapes and rod and bowing in the center. Maybe add one or two more support brackets in the center.

If your goal is ultra-calm and monotone, you've got it, but I'd rather see something with some color, texture, personality.

How about SW Color of the Year, Evergreen Fog? I'm not sure what color your carpet is, but if Agreeable Gray is close to it, putting that on the walls will be uninspiring. If Evergreen Fog is too dark for you, have the paint store cut the tint in half.
