Two different countertops

Hi, first time poster. Well we are in the process of building our home and we are deciding on countertops for kitchen. We would like quartz but they are expensive and we are on a tight budget. We can do high definition laminate but I’m facing the problem of wanting a undermount farmhouse sink. So I was thinking of quartz on the sink side of kitchen and rest of countertops laminate. Is it possible?
Thank you in advance.

Skip the mixed high and low matetials. It never looks right. Get plain jane DIY laminate blanks, off the shelf from the box store, not special order high def. You could by a cheap granite for what it costs. Skip the farm sink and go for a large single basin sink with a wide rim that can be dual mounted as a top mount now, or under mounted later after you save enough to afford 12K of counters.

Do the math please. I don't think you're going to save all that much.

@Joseph is your top mount flush with the countertop? Meaning can you wipe right into the sink like an undermount?
