I am not going hog wild this year. Ordered one: Florida seiboldii from Brushwood. Had ordered it before from someone else but it was actually Venosa Violacea. Niobe was spectacular for me last year. I got about 67 of them the last few years and am still trying to get some of them planted in the ground. Looks like Silver Star Vinery still might not be doing business this year and Joy Creek is gone. I bought Beautiful Bride from Spring Hill last year and it's still alive but didn't grow much where I had it. Think I might repot it. Looks like an amazing one.

I will probably buy mine locally this year. I would love to try Stand By Me Lavender too!

Niobe was a must - had it years ago, it was so hardy and bloomed most of the spring and summer. I was at Lowe's this afternoon and bought some of those little bagged ones....I just opened the bags, put water in to soak the peat they are in, let them plump up overnight and will pot up tomorrow. Something fun to play with in the greenhouse until spring.....They are tiny but have good root systems. This is also the time of year I succumb to body bag roses.....and have potted up a few of those to grow in the greenhouse too! I am doing my ordering early as last year I wanted to order some and most places were sold out when I tried to order in late spring.

I ordered a few last fall and I never planted them .. it’s time to admit I’m out of space for them here . They are in planters but I need to get in the ground asap . I just love them so much and it’s hard to pass up !

I’m so sad there aren’t many places to order from ! Last year I got some nice ones from a vendor on Etsy but I don’t think she’s opening this spring . I’m grateful for brushwood , what a gem they are !

I’m somewhat new to clematis and became interested in more variety than I could find at my local nurseries last year. Last year I purchased Betty Corning online, and decided to purchase another one for my front yard, this time from Brushwood, as my last one was purchased elsewhere and came in a teeny, tiny pot instead of the one gallon that Brushwood offers. I also purchased a Polish Spirit from Brushwood after seeing how beautiful it is on this forum. :-)

Lily I miss seeing photos from your beautiful yard! Hope you will post some soon - I know we would all be interested to see what you are planting this year. I know how it is to buy more than you have a place to plant! This is an ongoing thing with me.......but trying to get alot planted now while we hav a break in the cold rainy weather.

Brushwood sends gorgeous plants, and am looking forward to those from Garden Crossings. My Lowe's/Sam's purchases are tiny but have very good roots - will finish potting those up today - am enjoying seeing how quickly they respond and grow! I have made up some alfalfa tea in my greenhouse and am going to start watering plants in there with small diluted amounts of it.

I ordered my Betty Corning last year from Park Seed, and I think it was sent from Bluestone Perennials…it was a very healthy little plant, but oh so tiny! I’m so grateful to have heard about Brushwood on this forum! I also want Huldine and Niobe, but they are currently not available from Brushwood. Perhaps I’ll check out some of the other online sources listed above.

I bought a ton last year but I’m really trying to wait and see what color they actually are in my yard before I add more.

This is my first foray into the world of clematis. I always thought that they were all just a few weeks of show and then done.

Now I have so many picked out that I may have already become obsessive.

I just got 5 from Hite's. The plants looked small but when I repotted them I was very pleased to see what great root systems they all had. Since repotting a few days ago......I can see new growth already. And......they were on sale for $9.99!

I just got Stand By Me and Avant-Garde today. One is in a 4" pot and the other one is a plug. Both are so tiny. I'll pot them up to 1G and hope they can survive. I didn't have much luck growing them before.

I ordered Polish Spirit and Nubia from Brushwood. They got planted this weekend and I have my fingers crossed.

I ordered 4 from holland bulb farms. Purpea Plena elegans, Niobe, Earnest Markum, and Multi Blue. Pretty sure I grew all of them 20 years ago. Supposed to arrive friday. Crossing my fingers because of bad reviews from the supplier. As long as they're alive, I'll be happy.

Can't wait until local large retail stores get body bag roses and bare root clematis stuffed into plastic bags. Sometimes you can find gems at low prices.

I just got three from Hirt's: Sweet Summer Love, Minuet, and Happy Jack. Good price and cheap shipping. Would like to hear how Stand By Me does.

I happened to be at Home Depot today (for other reasons) but they had a new shipment of clematis in so I had to take a look :-) Most were very ordinary cultivars but they did have a bunch of 'Arabella's!! Big jumbo 1G pots and multiple stems and an excellent price. Arabella was the only clematis I have been considering as I already have too many to take care of but the one I grew at my previous garden was a favorite so was wanting to add to this garden as well. I'm happy 😊

erasmus, I hope you enjoy Sweet Summer Love as much as I do. Those wine colored flowers and great but delicate fragrance make it a winner in my book!

Thanks to those who bought from Hirt's. Checked out their site and bought 5 shrub roses. Delivered for $60. Looked at clematis. Seemed like good deals, but I have 4 trellis and 4 clematis on their way. Maybe if some don't make it or next year.

I think I'll like Sweet Summer Love but think the Japanese beetles might like it as well. Well, I don't usually stress out much about Japanese beetles.

My order of 4 arrived from Donahues and they are nice healthy looking plants that arw already growing.

Even the Marie Curie from Springhill looks great.

Now I am officially hooked.

I picked mine from Costco: the President, Niobe, Multi Blue, Duchess of Edinburg, and vile de Lyon. I think I might have bought too many.
