Did my wallpaper pro do an acceptable job?

We hired a highly rated pro to install traditional paper wallpaper on one wall ~ 10x10 with one small inset window. He estimated it would be 3-4 hours but it took 9 hours and he charged us double. After he left I inspected the job and noticed a lot of issues, but I don't know if this is "normal" or not. I have installed prepasted paper myself and did a much better job. The issues are the paper not being stuck to the wall in the corner, bubbles where it isnt stuck to wall, sloppy edges on the window, and wrinkles. Please let me know your opinions and if I should leave a poor review or if this is normal. Thanks!

From a distance it looks good!

Would be totally unacceptable to me as a professional job. What kind of discussion did you have with installer upon completion of this job regarding the extended time & cost over quote? Installer paid by hour instead of set price for job? Have you requested a fix of the problems before posting a bad review?

He said the window took longer than he thought and just kept saying incoherent things. it was dark by the time he left and my 5 year old son had covid and was isolating in another room all day so honesty i just wanted him to leave and wasnt able to see the issues before he left. he was so weird and hard to work with i wouldnt really want him to come back. i could message him and ask for a partial refund.

Oh and we had agreed on a fixed price not hourly. we finally agreed to slpit the difference, so i paid him 1.5 times the agreed upon amount.

Hmm - so not a good experience all around. I’m surprised he even agreed to come into your home with an active case of Covid going on - IMO, a reschedule wouldn’t have been unreasonable. My thought is that assuming no personal safety issue, I’d give the person I hired to do a job the opportunity to correct the problems or refund some $$ before posting a bad review.

Oh geez! I think that’s a terrible job. Wondering why on earth you paid him MORE than you were quoted?!

I know Juliet!🤦‍♀️ it was a rough day. my husband got home when he was finishing and was talking about how great it was and i just wanted him to leave because i had been stuck in a bedroom with a sick 5 year old for 9 hours!

Nothing about your story is professional or acceptable or 'normal'. That works is totally unacceptable but don't see how it can be fixed...hope you have more paper someone is going to have to start from scratch.

I agree, that is totally unacceptable. Its an awful job. It needs to be all removed, and then all redone. I do hope your son is doing well.

Sorry, but that looks horrible! I'm not a pro, but have done quite a few wallpapering jobs in my own homes. That should have been an easy job, actually. No cabinets or anything else to paper around. It has to be completely redone, in my opinion.

I am not a pro, but have hung lots of wallpaper. None of my rooms have ever looked like that!
