Celebrating a 60th birthday a few years ago. I found a photo editing app that gave us all 80s hair. DH and I are on the right, DS and DBIL on left. DH, who normally has no interest in photos of anyone, actually brought this to work to show around. I thinked he loved his hard rocker image, lol. I don't usually post photos but I think we're all well enough disguised here. We all laugh every time we look at it!

Ok, this one is fun: There is an artist in Guilford, CT who created amazing lifelike animal cutouts during the pandemic and would tuck them in along roadsides and in fields. Well, he's done it again. In anticipation of snow tonight, he has dotted the town's Green with a flock of penguins. He says he just wants to make people smile. Mission accomplished, I'd say. (PS--this is the same place we had our Ct get together last summer.)

The Fort Worth Stock Show is going on right now … this is my dad there in 1949. My great-grandparents took him (he was 7) — all decked out in his cowboy clothes. :)

In this kind of weather, when my dog whines to go out, I open the door, and she backs up and sits down instead. Thought bubble; nahh, I can hold it.

We are getting about a foot but I think Boston and points NE are getting 2ish feet? It is so pretty. I have been so happy that we have had snow on the ground here in CT pretty much since mid Dec. Only concern is DD is in Maine this weekend and will need to drive back to the Boston area, but not till Sunday night. In a convertible (eye roll).

Speaking of dogs refusing to go outside…

For those with dogs who live in snowy locations - buy a plastic pool (a large of plastic works pretty well too but not if you get alot of snow) and leave it out in a convenient place (we used to put ours just off our patio). When the snow stops, remove the pool/plastic and you will have a snow-free grassy area for your pup.

After no snow for two years now three weekends in a row with some sort of snow. Just a dusting overnight which is mostly gone now. It’s still pretty cold here though, also a little wind chill today.

Today’s fun: we are headed to DD’s college to take her to lunch for her bday. Stopped at local bakery in our town to get 6 fancy big cupcakes for her and her 5 roommates to have tonight, as well as 3 mini cupcakes for the 3 of us to have at lunch. THEN they threw in an entire day-old cake! (“Would you like a free cake?” has never happened to me before!) I think she’s gonna be very popular in her dorm today.
