I always loved this kitchen with perimeter soapstone and a lighter island. Your kitchen reminded me of it.

I really like that combo. From what I remember, there are warm tones in the counter, right? I think you are very wise to start with the counters and backsplash. Hopefully it gives you the change you need.

Agree with the above poster. I think the cool tones of the quartz and backsplash will clash with your beautiful warm cherry cabinets and warm toned wood floor. I think you should pick a counter and backsplash with more warm tones and creamier.

Thanks so much for helpful comments. Well, Ethereal Glow is described as neutral, but on the warmer side. The white is somewhat off-white and it has gold and very light gray veins. Our short list included (after seeing many, many slabs) silestone calacatta gold, ethereal glow, MSI Prado, and MSI Valentin. My favorite is Valentin, but my husband has STRONG preferences for glow. It looks like we need to revisit our choice and go over the short list again. Thanks.

@Omur, which one did you decide on? any pictures of it installed?

Keira P, we picked ethereal glow with matte white large subway tiles. We will also update the under cabinet lighting and cabinet hardware. I will definitely post picture post-installation- hopefully in a month or so.

We also picked the paint color for kitchen and all surrounding rooms (open floor plan) by working with a color consultant. It will be BM classic gray, which is warm off-white.
