Purple Pawprint and Quasar Cutie are my two favorites tonight.......I have an interesting experience with Pandora's Box. I've had mine in ground (as opposed to in pots) for 25 years or so. The last 3 years nutsedge invaded one of the clumps. I tried very judiciously to corral the nutsedge in amongst the daylily leaves and spritz them with a dedicated herbicide for nutsedge. This is what happened to the foliage of the daylily leaves every year after I sprayed. I've never seen herbicide damage (white spots/stripes) like this on any other plants. I ended up having to pull the daylily so that I could eliminate the Nutsedge in the area....So, Beware of using Nutsedge killer around your daylilies....Maryl

"The picture doesn't do the color justice". You hear people say this all the time and I can sympathize with them. I never could get the depth of the jewel like tones on this daylily on film. All I can say is that it can be breath taking at times. It is also pretty sunfast/colorfast

Maryl, we have nutsedge. It's terrible stuff. Bob killed several seedlings and damaged several named cultivars with a product called Sedgehammer. We were told it was safe to overspray daylilies but it was not. He uses another product now with great success. I don't remember the name. I'll have to ask him. He's currently outside trying to clear the driveway of snow.

I don't really love the color of Piece of the Action.

I really like Pink Stripes. I am hoping to get some striped seedlings from it. What I don't know is how likely it is to get stripes if only one parent is striped. Pink Stripes is our only diploid striped daylily.

I almost convinced Bob to let Primal Scream go in the name of downsizing. He is reluctant to let any orange daylilies go bye bye. I think we have better ones than this.

Priscilla's Dream is a blooming machine for us.

Brad, I agree that seedling is a "look at me" kind of plant! I still have Priscilla's Rainbow because it is such a good plant and it really is a looker in a clump.

David, Proper Stranger is pretty and at that size probably really stands out. I like Passing Fancy as well.

Nan, Papa's Goose looks good in your photo. I have debated that one but have not yet convinced myself I really need it!

Pink Super Spider

I didn't get a good pic of Parade of Peacocks, but I did find this one mislabeled as Parade of Peacocks and there are a couple small PoP blooms in the pic so I think it qualifies.

That's a very nice clump of Flight of Orchids. PInk Aloha can have ravishing blooms, but also deformed ones and low scapes. Ideally, would be in a warmer climate than here, but it has stayed.

Sherry yes that quote sounds about right! Quasar Cutie is very interesting and Pizza Crust is such a performer.

Pandora's Box

Pardon Me. Poor pic but it shows the colour well. I finally planted it late season.

Penny's Worth had a bad year along with so many others. It was super hot and dry.

Pink Stripes. I hope to get it planted this year.

Steve - Flight of Orchids is really striking. I'm glad it made it in on your Parade of Peacocks picture.

Mantis - Pink Aloha opens later in the day here, but I can't ever remember deformed blooms. It's never had the registered 30-inch scapes here. Mine are usually 25- 26 inches tall. The problem here is the sprawling plant habit. New fans come up 2.5 to three inches away, and the fans are huge, covering up neighbors on either side and in front and in back. I have to give it a haircut every year just so the neighbors can bloom. I do think the flowers are outstanding though, and that's why I put up with the sprawling foliage. It's also give me some pretty seedlings.

Pink Aloha - The fans are so far apart it's hard to get good clump shots.
