Pothos vine help

So i had to cut my pothos. its so so short he was just gone so there are 2 main vines that i can see at least. theyre white ish and one started sprouting a leaf but the main vine is just not growing. am i being impatient, is the main vine too short i mean its growing a beautiful green leaf so i know hes still got life. I have no green thumb but im trying to learn i cannot lose this guy
