freestanding tubs

There are so many gorgeous freestanding tubs on the market. I think I prefer the older style drop-in tub with a surround on which I can place my book, etc., and which offers a seat for gracefully exiting or entering the tub. If you have a freestanding tub, do you use and enjoy it?

I love taking a tub, especially in the winter. The freestanding tubs are beautiful, but I put in a deck mounted one in my new build for two reasons. I'm getting a little older and these seem safer and I love to have my products surrounding me on the deck while I'm soaking.

I also don't care for how these look unless there is plenty of space around them. The prettiest ones are like pieces of sculpture and need space or they look like they are crammed in.
