Wow, maz, that's quite a list of new plants! I was proud of myself for planting a Festiva Maxima last year lol. Thought I'd go with the classics first! Peonies for some reason are always on my list but I never seem to get around to actually getting them. I think it's the whole "they don't like to be moved" thing - I'm a plopper not a planner so I know eventually they will need to be moved. (Plus I don't have a lot of sun so real estate is scarce!) And I have successfully narrowed my pot ghetto from over 200+ a few years ago to about a dozen so I don't want to go down that road again lol. In addition to my new FM I have a Sarah Bernhardt and an unidentified pass-along of a beautiful, almost-raspberry color. Both in pots haha!

Oursteelers can you ID your peonies for us? Especially that lovely yellow? I've been thinking I should get a yellow...

LOL, oursteelers, just after I posted that question I looked again and thought, funny if it turns out it's a white peony! It's still lovely and I'll have to look into getting that one. I'm actually trying to add more yellow to my garden, (of all shades - creams, ivories, pale yellows, deep yellows) kind of as a unifying thread throughout the beds.

I don't really know how I acquired so many pots lol. I didn't plan it that way. I guess it was a product of my natural inclination to procrastinate, and my inability to make a decision - i.e, to commit to a certain spot for a certain plant lol. Add four part-time jobs, and two young and active kids, and well, things just never got planted. One year I counted 250 pots of all sizes dragged into the garage for the winter (the cars stayed outside lol!)

I got RID of the plant ghetto by NOT buying more new plants (well, not as many as I usually did - and lol, I can thank Bluestone's change in their business method for a lot of that!). And for several years I sold bouquets at a few farmers markets, so my garden focus went from mostly perennials to lots of (winter-sown) annuals, so that also helped with buying fewer plants. Bought less, gradually got things planted, gave some stuff away, lost some stuff through neglect. The last year I made a concerted effort to put more thought and planning into my garden, and got stuff planted, and now I'm down to about a dozen plants, with at least 4 of them with already-designated spots (just never got around to planting them in the fall!) LOL those two potted peonies don't have designated spots yet so I need to get thinking about those!

It’s beautiful!! Mine are still small buds, it should take 2-3 weeks for the first one to open.

mazerolm i cant wait to see them when they do!!! Promise to post plenty of photos! The anticipation is brutal, I check mine multiple times every day like a crazy person.
