I guess take a door to a paint store and have it color matched

Either Lowes or HD will match Kraftmaid colors and they do a really good job of it. We had them color match Lagoon and took home a sample. It was damn near the same.

@Nick I took the door to them and they created the sample. I tested it at home and held it up to the door. Looked great.

@Lisa- Lagoon is a paint color though, right? Husk is a stain.

Yes but I'm thinking they can still color match if you have a door with that stain on it... all you can do is ask.. Or go to the Kraftmaid website and check with them.

i'll have to ask next time i'm there, it'll be worth a shot. Kraftmaid sells it by the quart on their website, but it's $52 before tax and shipping. i

Youre not going to match a professional multi stage seal, spray stain, clear, tone, clear system with a single component homeowner grade product. Or even the factory ”stain”. You just can’t apply it in the same way or with the same skill. Stain is 10x harder than paint. It will never match. Which is why you always buy your stain grade moldings and embellishments already finished from the manufacturer.

@User- yeah, this was mostly an after thought. I was just looking for something close enough. I reached out to my local cabinet rep. to see if he could get a sample/small amount. We'll see where that goes.

Nick - any luck? In same boat here... looking for Husk ("distressed" no less) just for baseboards in bathroom so not crutial if match isn't perfect.

@VLM- unfortuntaely, no luck yet. the cabinet rep. has been unresponsive since he mentioned he was going to order some. project has been put on the backburner for now though.

No yellowish kitchen. It looks already dated. :-(((

Before you make your decision please read some more discussions here how people try to update yellow stain cabinets, especially yellow oak cabinets.

@nick for small area I would take your door to your local sherwin Williams and have them match a stain and then use that. I had them match the color of my wood floors so that I could stain my new stair treads. Going to do this for my cabinets too but @verbo is right. Based off my research over the last several months, if you are trying to stain a custom island like me to match a cabinet company stain like Kraftmaid it’s not going to look like their product at the end of the day because of the stain hardening, toner and all the other steps not to mention where I’m at in CA they ban all kinds of stain products. Hope that helps!

Hi! would love to see a picture of your husk cabinets... I'm trying to make a decision on husk and whether maybe husk on oak would work well, or if the red/yellow undertones are too strong.
