Do you know what you're going to use all of this space for? If so, you should be able to lay out furniture or a pool table or whatever you're planning on having there so you can get a better idea of where to put walls. If you're not going to use all of it just finish the parts you need and leave the rest of it unfinished and let the next owner worry about it if they want it. Knowing how you're going to use the space will also help you with your lighting plan and where you'll need outlets.
