What don't you like about this color? Are you thinking lighter or darker? Why Minwax?

Thinking dark wood or grey- it clashes with cabinets as is (i think!), and bc of that, im having a bery hard time picking a kitchen table. doesnt have to be miniwax!

Dont do gray, stick with a brown tone. What do you not like about the floor color? Are you looking at gray because its a more ’neutral’ color? Thats a lot of floor. The cabinet color is what I would change, but its not as easy.

    I love your floor color.

The kitchen floor is next to this marble and other wood floor so we are feeling like it clashes… thought about chnaging cabinet color but its way mkre exoensive and doesnt seem worth it..

With stains, just like paint, you need to sample. If you're going to have a contractor do the work, they should be able to provide samples. You want them to do it because they're probably used to working with a particular product so you need to see the options in that product line.

If you're doing it, buy a piece of wood the same species as your floor and sample different stains. I wouldn't go too much darker than what you have. If you're doing it yourself be aware that you don't want to sample furniture stains, you want floor stain. I agree with the poster who suggested not to do gray. The gray floor tones are out. Medium brown is classic.

That floor color as is,is beautiful.

I love the color of your floor, too. To my eye, it looks just fine with the cabinets and the marble. Please, no dated gray!!
And changing the color of your flooring to coordinate with a kitchen table seems…drastic, and less than logical. And expensive and laborious! There are so many tables in this world. How about a white one, or a color, or a darker wood table? Or put a rug under the kitchen table; I’d suggest the vinyl floor cloth rugs and runners by Spicher and Company- check them out online. They are reasonably priced, wipe clean, and have a huge selection of great patterns to choose from.

I also think you should use colorful rugs to break up the wood a bit, the trouble isnt the floor color.

I personally like the floor color and think it works well with your cabinets. I do understand why your wanting something different due to where it meets the marble flooring and the other wood flooring but unfortunately I don’t think staining it a different color will help rectify that issue. The space is a bit stark looking. I love the warmth of the brown walls in dining area and could see using that color to paint cabinetry surrounding the refrigerator. A round tulip table would look great in that dining area, and then you could add upholstered chairs in a color to add a splash of accent color to the space. Repeat that color in a few accessories in the kitchen to help connect the two. Your home looks nice it just needs some tweaks to make the space pop.

Sand off the finish and go lighter - Wood look.

g & s- do you have any photos of the lighter color you recommend?

Are both of the wood floors solid wood? One appears to be oak and the other looks more like maple. I would try to get those two to coordinate a bit. That darker color looks to have the same tone as the cabinets.

You are right—the kitchen floor is oak and adjacent room is maple. However the cabinets are neither or those colors.

Looking again, I think I agree. The floors and cabinets aren't that far off. Get your space finished and all will be well. Looks like you have some fun chairs. Maybe something like this. Dark enough to contrast with your current floor, coordinate with your oak hardwood and brings in the marble look from your counters. Add a rug later if you feel it's needed. Love your dark wall and fun lighting. Don't overthink this! https://www.roveconcepts.com/winston-dining-table-48-inch .
