Dark Floor Decorating

We have an open floor plan kitchen, seating and living room. White cabinets and white backsplash. My husband wants mahogany flooring. How do you decorate with such a dark wood floor? Or should we go a shade lighter? Deciding between Floorte Deep Mahogany or Bermese Teak colors. Modeled Oak is another option if dark woods are “out.” We do not decorate with traditional style and I’m feeling like the deep mahogany tends to go that way. Any ideas/pics would be appreciated! Thanks!

Just took a look, they’re all nice colors. I think you could do any decor/style you like with any of the three, and I wouldn’t consider them ”out”.

It’s impossible to say which is best for you without seeing the rooms, your furniture and decor, etc. Do some searches on each one to see if anyone has shared pictures. Even then, just keep in mind your own lighting and such will affect tones.

IMO dark flooring does lean traditional. You can “try on” any floors on the Shaw website, I used that tool when figuring out what floors I wanted, we wanted dark originally but when I put my house in the photos it did not work with dark floors! However I did some dark floors upstairs and in bedrooms and it looks great. It really depends on the house.
