Aesthetic White on bottom right (floors are covered for installing trim work now so pictures are limited).

Many basements depend on electrical lighting for illumination and the type and number of bulbs is a huge factor to consider. Testing, as you are, will provide you the best means to choose the final color.

With adequate light, color can be applied. We have used a variety of accent color to define spaces in ours so, yes, go for it. Brown and blue co-exist in nature.

BM is showing "butterfield" #897 as a coordinating color... maybe start from there. its seems to be what u are looking for.

what are u going to do in this room? TV room, playroom, storage etc... that would factor into my decision. TV viewing, i would go darker... playroom or storage, lighter...

check your lighting color temp as well

Thank you for your comments. The main room will be a TV/entertainment room with wet bar, sectional, shuffleboard table, etc. with the accent wall being where the TV is placed (where the door frame is place in picture). The room in the picture will be a workout room. The recessed lighting has adjustable settings from warm white to day light but I prefer the neutral or soft white.

I’ll add more colors to my sample list, including butter field.
