as to the money tree... it looks like a huge plant in a tiny very dry pot ... bone dry.... as in dry enough to make the leaves yellow and fall off ...

how about a pic of the whole plant;. pot and all ... when is the last time you repotted this plant you have had over a year??

the pathos also looks very dry for a plant you are propagating.. and which presumably doesnt have a lot of roots ... [its so dry the media is pulling away form the side of the pot ...]

You can relax, FF. What you're seeing which resemble eggs are the spore-carrying fruiting bodies of one of the common saprophytic fungi that often occur in peat and bark products. It's presence in the soil shouldn't be viewed as a clarion call to immediate action as plants live in harmony with thousands of species of fungi, including slime molds, which occur naturally wherever plants grow. The fuzzy parts, mycelium, are roughly equivalent to roots in plants. Fungi are beneficial to the landscape soil/food web because they break down organic material into a nutrient form plants can absorb. That they tend to diminish the structural integrity of a medium, and a grow medium's structure and ability to maintain an appropriate structure might be said to be it's most important physical characteristic, a good argument could be raised about whether or not it should be treated as an indirectly limiting factor. It won't directly harm the plant, but it will accelerate breakdown of the grow medium. Any fungicide that can be applied as a soil drench should kill the fungi. Chamomile tea, known to be a mild anti-fungal agent, might even do the job.
