Another vote for cream. Am I missing something - Why is there that space between the cabinets?

The cream accentuates the beautiful stacked design. I’d say it’s a keeper.

I'm going for all black. The tiles are statements pieces and as a whole (unbroken with cream), it reads like a beautiful solid slab of dark and shiny. Also, the wall is broken up with cupboards so there isn't 1 really large area of wall. Keeping the grout dark keeps the wall reading as 1 large piece. I also feel with the cream, it accentuates the cupboards, not the wall and makes the entire area too busy on the eye. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I prefer the cream as well. Like someone else said it helps harmonize the traditional cabinets with the more modern tile. But you may want to take a look at the IG account mstarrevdesign because I think she recently did the exact same thing, grouted lighter, didn’t like it and changed it darker. I think she colored the grout somehow.

I'm just getting to the point of tiling our bathroom so your dilemma is giving me perspective on what to do. I agree with babewithabrush. From your photos, I prefer the dark grout--the tiles form one big beautiful surface with variations. The cream grout seems to emphasize the pattern of the grout (the tiles are secondary). With both grout colours, the upper cupboards seem to float on the wall--which is OK--you need cupboards. I much prefer the dark grout. But as someone said, live with it for a while and you'll decide when the time is right. Enjoy your new kitchen!

I love how it looks with light grout. All dark would be quite dull.

Ignore her - your kitchen is lovely. I like both the dark and light grouts. I think I’d leave it be - the light shows off the individual tiles nicely.

I have black and irridescent 1x1 glass mosaic tile in my bathroom (2 walls up to the ceiling) and I used a black grout bc the other colors bounced light. I wouldn't have done it if it was solid black for a wall like yours. I think you are right about the beige grout. It gives it definition.

Terrib, that was absolutely uncalled for! Everyone has different taste and if we all had the same, what a boring existence we all would lead.

I agree with keeping the cream grout. BTW, should your grout ever become stained by spatters or spills I recommend using a GROUT PEN restorer pen available on Amazon or other sites. I was unable to change the white tile and grout counters in my kitchen and this product has kept it looking like new for decades. It comes in several colors and is easy to apply.

You didnt ask, but just a suggestion......have your electrician change all of your outlets and plate covers to black. Ii have dark green concrete backsplash and the electrical just disappears.

Two words, and they'll work just as well later if you change your mind.

Grout paint.

I like something different and the dark grout is nice with the light cabinets. Also, the lighter grout goes great for making the tiles and pattern more visible. Either way your kitchen your choice and I hope it makes you "Happy".

I don't like the cream grout. It makes for a busy wall. Love the dark grout. I guess you can live with the cream for awhile .

Definitely the cream grout! The black grout feels claustrophobic to me.

I love this tile color! However, if you were able to create a solid field of color on a large wall I think darker grout would be very nice but with the cabinets and window breaking up the space, I prefer the light grout. I expect this beautiful project will grow on you quickly!

i prefer the black grout. Bedrosian Cloe is a Zellige-look tile. These tiles mimic the hand made Moroccan tiles and are installed bumped together with very little grout showing. With a different color grout, it's a subway look. Nothing wrong with that - just a different application of those tiles. I used a similar Zellige-like tile (Ivy Hill/Montauk). I wanted to use the 2x6 stacked vertical like your photo but don't have the vertical space - too much cutting. I used the 4 x 4 stacked off white with a matching grout. My installer did a great job installing, but he sent his helper to grout. He over grouted - looks ridiculous. It needed to be wiped at least two more times. I paid for the tile look, not the grout look. I should have done it myself. I now need a grout release to remove at least half of the grout smeared over the edges and ripples. Here are photos from an IG account using the same tiles I installed. She used offset instead of stacked, but you can see there is very little grout.

light grout for sure..but the result is much more of a feature....so just to throw this out for thought...change the hardware with that....the black w gold existing hardware maybe is another layer of detail that doesnt work so well. simplify the hardware and keep the light grout [later, when you get around to it]

I love the way the cream grout looks. So fresh and youthful looking. Terrib962 must be a brittle old batt! She has no social skills. Must be very low class and never learned how to properly interact with adults. Oh well, she must be so miserable. Anyway, I love the way it looks. It might be worth living with since so many of us love it. It may grow on you and if it doesn’t you can change it later but keep moving forward on your projects. You have a beautiful home. Enjoy it☺️

OP, while I don’t necessarily mind the cream grout, I do prefer the drama of the all-dark. If it was my kitchen, I would change it.

Thanks, all! So appreciate the feedback. I don’t mind that not everyone will be in love with this design. It’s not cookie cutter and it has our personality attached. Here’s the finished product minus our leather stools.

I like it! I’m glad you didn’t let that person get you down. I’m not sure why they felt the need to be “as ugly and as nasty” as they were. Not everyone has the same taste. Thank goodness - otherwise it would be a pretty boring world! Congratulations on your renovation!

@angielusk It looks beautiful. I have learned not to take things seriously on Houzz. I once posted photos for advice, and someone replied with a negative comment. She was a designer. I've noticed that she comments quite a bit on a lot of posts - sometimes constructive, most times negative and kind of rude. There is another designer who is even worse. I can't imagine hiring them. I have second guessed a lot of my choices, but I've learned to wait until it all comes together. Do what makes you happy.

That’s a gorgeous kitchen, Angie, and unique (we need more of that these days, IMO). The tile is really pretty and I like that you’ve done that whole wall. Enjoy your beautiful space!

Beautiful kitchen! I think that tile looks fabulous with the grout you have, I probably would have said the sama bout the darker grout, ha, beautiful either way!

I love the dark grout but as you can tell by the split vote in the comments, it is a personal preference. And since it is your kitchen, you get to decide. If you dislike the grout, commit to changing it.

I love love that tile!! It really is gorgeous! I used it in my tiny 1/2 bath. I used a dark grout.

The closeup photos show the beauty of the tile. It is cream grout for sure. Otherwise it seems like a uniform dark mass. Cream allows the gorgeous blues and greens to stand out. Someone had a good suggestion to change your hardware to pull colour onto the cabinets and integrate backsplash and cabinets better. Amazing kitchen!

I actually like both the ungrouted and the grouted. Both look good. Maybe you can leave the grouted cream for now and then some time down the road when you feel for a change you can do a dark grout. The dark tile makes the tile recede but still shine, while the cream tile highlights the texture and makes it pop.

I like both looks. The cream does tie to the cabinets. Nice theme!
