I really dislike wall to wall carpet anywhere what is the flooring in the rest of the house if wood then that is what I would do there with a nice area rug . IMO the bedding does nothing for the nice bed you needed to buy king size for that bed if a queen and if a king then you need a bedskirt I would do the same fabric as the drapes for a nice look. Your lighting is having bad effect on the colors so look at changing the bulbs to LED 4000K. It could just be the ruffle on the bedding and the fact that the bed is just not made attractively.

If you haven't shopped for carpet in a long time you will probably be amazed by the variety available. Go to a real flooring store, not a big box store. They will let you bring home sample boards so you can see the samples in the light in your room. I have to say I don't love the bedding either. I think the white background doesn't go well with the warm tone of the wood the bed is made out of. Unless maybe it looks better in person? I have a similar bed. My quilt is cream and greige. My walls are Edgecomb Gray. The Revere Pewter looks like it's working with the bed however.

I wouldn't buy curtains until everything else is in place.

I think you can find a tweedy carpet or one with a subtle pattern like this carpet.

Patricia Colwell Consulting Unfortunately, the flooring under carpet is plywood. We considered installing hardwood but had to pass. I'd prefer hardwood + rugs too, but not to be.

We returned the duvet cover and will select carpet first... then move on to bedding and curtains. Appreciate your suggestions. We do want blue, so are looking at softer blue options...
