I'm doing a bathroom reno where we remove the tub/shower combo and install a barrier-free shower. The shower will be about 10" wider than the original tub footprint. This means that the existing drain pipe will be off centre from the new shower.

There is a product from QM Drain that addresses the issue of an off-centre pipe.

My questions:

• has anyone used an adjustable linear drain from QM Drain? What do you think?
• are there any similar products from other companies?
• the QM drain costs around $1200. Basic big-box store linear drains are around $250. Would it be better just to move the plumbing and install a basic linear drain?
