Waterproofing will be critical. Windows in showers are weak points for water infiltration and rot. Hire a kitchen and bath designer who understands this, and who works with a contractor team who does too.

I think the shower could go either way. My shower is to the right and I never noticed any difference. Enjoy your new bathroom!

Placement of shower head and controls is also directly related to glass design.

We never place windows in showers in our projects. There will inevitably be water infiltration and rot. If you do place a window in your bathroom (and you really need to) then would suggest a 2'-0" x 2'-0" operable casement window above the toilet. Good luck!

Never thought about having the window above toilet. I think that's a great idea.

The reason you saw the shower head on the same side as the toilet before is because that way the contractor only had to run plumbing up one wall. However, it looks like the controls and spout for the tub are on the right in your bathroom. In that case, the plumbing is already there and will just have to be extended. It will be easier to reach the shower controls if they're on the right since you won't have to squeeze between the toilet and the shower.

When you relocate the window will it look ok on the outside?

I think it will look okay. It will be on the side of our house, same as the other bathroom window.

Have you considered moving the shower head to the center of the wall rather than the end wall? I wanted to do this in our new build, but was too late, the wall wouldn't work as it was an outer one and we live in cold winters.... but a thought for you! You'd still have the window issue but it opens up the shower area and you use the whole thing instead of one side only . ex:

Or you could add a rainfall showerhead on the ceiling and a hand-held showerhead on the wall.

I’ve seen this and think it looks really cool! This is the shower head we purchased so it can’t me mounted to the ceiling
