Normal leaves

Orange Jessamine is a big favorite we've grown for years here in Southern CA both as single bushes and hedges. Sorry, I can't say that I've seen or noticed the more sparse new leaf growth. How often are you watering them? They do very well for us with low watering. Just wondering about the white spots on the leaves and berries in your normal photo

If someone here can't help, take your samples to a good, local nursery. These plants are so nice. I love the "lacy" look of the leaves.

ETA - I just took this first pic of one of ours showing some new growth. The second pic shows another with the pretty, lacy look I mentioned. Third pic are a few more that appear to have been trimmed by the gardener today.

It is a great shrub. I water them very deeply once a week in summer ( temps in the higher nineties to lower hundred). All dozen shrubs were produced from a single mother plant. I know the breeder. Ten are doing fine, but two have developed this problem. In addition they flowered very scantly last autumn and did not set a single berry.

As for the white spots, they look like scratches. I don't know how they came about but the shrubs are not harmed by them.

I think checking with a nursery might be best. I’d be interested in what they say. My guess is they’ll be fine. We grew them as a very long hedge at a previous home. We kept the height at about 5’ and it was really nice.
