Thank you for all the options. So I am not sure this light blue color ottoman is a good purchase. It looks pretty but…will it look great?? It’s a big purchase so want to be sure it will make the room pop. In my opinion, the darker looks better but I’m not that good at this. Is anyone able to photoshop it in my photo for a visual?

It is a soft blue. I thought about the brighter rugs, and realized photoshop with your brown ottoman and light tray would be helpful. If my memory serves, your thread long ago showed green chest. There are soft versions of spruce green that you mentioned: maybe mineral blue, or Bev's color, etc... in between kitchen's accent and spruce green.

I have declined the ottoman. Moving on!! It was too large as well as too light in color.

Love the argyle diamond. As for the green chest, I painted that piece black so there is no longer that color to work with. :)

My progress slowed down a bit (life :) and back at trying to pull this room together by putting up light sheer panels with black hardware. My question is the hardware I was liking is the pictured due to the air conditioner, I’d like it to wrap into wall. Are these difficult to use if changing out panels often? It seems as tho they are locked in and would need to be removed to replace panels?

I am getting ready to hang these drapery hardware in my living room. Thoughts on this style? It would benefit with the AC unit I think and I would add the panels on rings. I purchased this arc lamp for the corner. Thoughts??

JMO……I am not sure you actually need draperies. What I think you need is art on the walls.

I'm sorry, I had a strong reaction. Let me look at it again. Ok, No! Reason? The rods are industrial and your decor style is clearly French Country cottage. The reason that you feel the living room needs something is that every other area of your house is filled with decor and the living room is spare in comparison. Also, while the round part will be partly hidden by the fabric, it will show and be crowded in next to the air unit. And black will be a constrast that will stick out. You do have some dark in the room to balance, but something softer, like a dark bronze will look better, or even a polished silver look to go with the lamps. I do think drapes will finish off the walls and add to your country cozy look. Then just keep adding until you have the look you want. I tend to test a look by adding too much then taking away. A new rug and coffee table is in order. I would try a wood table the color of your dining table to bring cohesion. And some pillows to go with the colors of the rug. I think the room looks calm and serene without art, but you feel something is missing, so add until your eye loves it. Your deco does not have to be strickly french country cottage, but does need to blend with the style. The silver lamps to me are too shiny glam but they do go with the glam pillows. If you want your living room to be the same feel as your dining area, just keep adding until you have the feel you want. Your house is really lovely and charming and cozy while avoiding the shabby chic look. Good job! As far as the drapes go, something a bit thicker than sheers, not stark white, maybe wait until you get the rug to pull a color from. Your style is on the "more is more" side and I think that is why you feel the living room needs more.

Rings on the drapes is fine if you don't hang them too close to the ceiling, maybe 1/3 of the space down. Then art below the air unit and something on the right, small art or a sconce.

All just my opinion based on the rest of your house, not on my style or preferences. The rest of your space is charming, trust your instinct and your eye and how you feel in the room.

I personally love the rug! But it adds little to the room in terms of texture or color. With the addition of drapes your room is very "soft." the ottoman is not as "soft" but a wood table would balance the sofa, pillows and drapes. There is nothing wrong with having everything "soft' it's a style, but I think you want and need more balance between hard and soft. The right rug is important for grounding the room. Is there somewhere else you can use the rug? If you saw examples of other rugs in your room I think you might want to change it. Calling Beth!
