white white kitchen

I’m buying a new house and for some reason I chose all white cabinets. I’m freaking out because I really wanted white oak, but it’s too late for that. Any ideas for making an all white kitchen look transitional/vintage look?
Should I paint my island?

Don't freak out. It will be fine. My last house had white cabinets, white quartz, white subway, accent marble tile grey/white behind cooktop (top to bottom) and a navy island. It looked great.

Right, i forgot to mention white subway, white quartz and a white island! (What was i thinking, i know) should i paint the island a different color?

Treat yourself to some lovely decorative pieces in a color you love. If you have some vintage kitchenware, even better.

    What is your flooring?

My kitchen had SW Pearly White cabinets, SW anchors aweigh for island, hardwood floors were provincial stain. Everything worked nicely together.

Island could be navy, green, charcoal, black, etc depending on your other choices.

Your choices will depend on coordinating all of your colors and materials. Here are some inspiration pics.

Is it crazy to paint my brand new cabinets?

It wouldn't bother me to paint the island, but I would live with it for a while to let true feelings surface. I lived in my new house for a year before I recently began making substantial changes.

I'd add a colourful runner and bamboo roman blinds before I'd start painting cabinets.

Congratulations on your new house! Have you moved in yet? The nice thing about white is you can add any colors you want. I'd go with accessorizing before I started painting cabinets! Runners, area rug, pottery canisters, plants. Even the white oak flooring is going to add some color. What color are you painting you walls?

Search white kitchens on Houzz, Pinterest and Instagram. Find a kitchen that is similar to your choices and note what was done in regards to accessories, lighting, injection of wood, hardware, hood, chairs at island. There are all kinds of ways to warm it up and personalize.

    Hi!

I can definitely offer some advice... as I also chose white cabinets and wondered if I would be able to achieve that look.

Here are some things I have added/will add to achieve the look I am going for:

    - Antique Brass faucet from Newport Brass

    - Antique Brass Flynn Pendants from Pottery Barn over my island

    - Antique Brass Emtek cabinetry hardware in a mix (Knobs, pulls and a latch under the sink)

    - Will be adding vintage accessories on the counters

    - Added in a Loloi runner in a dark Olive green color

    - Will be adding dark olive green curtains in the dining area which is open to the kitchen

    - Adding a black farmhouse table with linen covered chairs and a Restoration Hardware antique brass Chandelier from their Rococo collection

    - Will be adding caramel or medium/dark brown leather counter stools for some warmth

    - Add in a large wood cutting board to be on display on your island or counter

I am also trying to decide between the two backsplash options you see in the photo .... the slightly grey tone seems to give a bit more character.

Some things you might be able to further add... a countertop with more grey veining than I purchased.

I've also added in some stools and lighting that I'm looking at

Wow, thanks everyone! Unfortunately no room for barstools but the other ideas may work!

@P G white subway will work too… but the other elements being in warmer tones will really help to add a transitional feel!
