I live in Florida. Two rooms, kitchen, family room have skylights in the center of the room. The fan is approximately 3 feet from the skylight.

In the kitchen, the ceiling is slanted. The skylight is on the slant and the fan is a few feet to the other side. There was no option in either room. No one has ever remarked about it and I worried initially, but now I don't even notice it. I love the skylights and had no intention of removing them for the ceiling fan.

In our bedrooms, our AC vent is on the upper side wall, not in the ceiling so the fans were centered.

Marissa Henry Need a better photo. Is the vent in the middle of the room, or the middle of your bed? Hard to tell.

Also, do you have electrical to that area already? That could be problematic.

In our home, the ceiling fans area centered with the beds (not directly over the beds, but towards the ends), but not always centered in the room because the bed is not centered in the room. Here's our guest bedroom.
