We're ordering a bathroom window, the guy on the phone was really helpful. Asked me a bunch of questions and I'm super happy with the experience. He did say the window has a window flange. What's a window flange? Does it go on the exterior or the interior?
If it goes on the interior when do I put the window in? It's going in the shower, so it's a special order tempered glass window. Would the flange go right on the studs or would it be nailed into the tile board? I can think of reasons why both would and wouldn't make sense.
If the flange goes on the outside how do I make sure it's to code? I read some other posts and people were talking about drip edges? We have vinyl siding if that helps.
I've not installed many windows and I've never installed this kind. I feel like this is maybe a stupid series of questions, but I'd rather do it right.
