ffo and getting ready for a sale

Hemerocallis minor beat H. dumortieri with the first flower planted in the garden (not the greenhouse) for the 2022 season. It doesn't have many buds on a scape but the clump has 12 scapes.

Tomorrow is our big sale for the year. The Wabash Valley Herb Society always has the Herb Fair the day before Mother's Day. We have been vendors there for 12 years. We dug and cleaned 142 double fans to sell. Hopefully, we come home empty handed. The weather didn't cooperate as it has rained both today and yesterday, but in between rains and working Wednesday night, we have the job done. Now all we have to do is pack up. Here is the pick up filled with the daylilies.

The plants are behind where they normally are since our spring has been so cold. Next week, according to weather forecasts, summer arrives early--high 80's.

The sale is over. We went with 142 double fans and came home with 6. All in all, it was a good, though cold and windy, day. At least it didn't rain

Looking at those plants, they don’t look behind!!! They look huge and healthy. What a lot of work you did. I dug 15 for a family member last week and it was more of a chore than usual due to muddy ground. I was exhausted!! Hope your sale goes great!

Wow what nice plants. I wish I lived in your area so I could come and buy some. My gardens have been laying in water for weeks now, hopefully this week here in Ohio it will dry up. Good luck with your sale.

We got over 5 inches of rain Wed/Thurs this week (maybe you had our system as it moved eastward?). I can't imagine trying to process that many daylilies in rainy weather. Your plants look great in the picture (and in person). Good luck with the sale........Maryl

Good job! I was chilly here, I bet I would have been miserable there if you had the same dampness in the air. Hope your Mother's Day is a nice, restful one.

Well, it is lovely and bright and your plants look wonderful. I would love some of that rain here, and we are in high 80s and 90s this week. summer is early here too.
