A good bloom day

Can I just say I don’t like our weather! Like most of you we are 15 to 20 degrees above normal. It is so hot and humid it is difficult to enjoy the gardens.

Tricolor

Gwendolyn Rose

Prickly Sensation

Southwestern Memories-color is more orange than this shows

Fancy Needlework

Trio of Jinxy

Remembering Grace

Cosmic Sensation (I think)

Wish I knew this one-it is in a redone bed with lots of moving in and out and tag got lost in the move

And a lovely trio of Soli del Gloria -NOT!!! I have SDG and got this one last year as a bonus-seller does not know what it is and no longer sells SDG (wonder why :)) This is pretty and every bloom has the wonky petal

Last hurrah for the roses-this is Lavaglut

An Austin rose

And my yellow Kordes rose I showed before is of the Eleganza series: Sunny Sky. I am glad Mantis questioned me about the name-made me dig into the dirt to find the tag!!

Lavaglut is grown by so many people who really like her. The Austin shaped blooms are/were as appealing to me as my more favored Hybrid Teas when I grew roses. David Austin certainly had a winning series on his hands..............My favorite daylily of this batch is Gwendolyn Rose. This mauve/lavender color is one I really like. Good form on her too. How does the color hold for you?..............Any Reimer's budded up for you yet?..........Maryl

The heat is oppressive, isn't it, for so early. Hope you are getting to cooler temps they predict for us next week. Gwendolyn Rose is such a pretty color. I like Remembering Grace too. Beautiful roses, I always enjoy those since I don't grow them any more.

Like others here, my favorite daylily today is Gwendolyn Rose, which looks rose pink to me. I can't resist a pretty pink. Jinxy is showing a great pattern now, and I like the bright colors on your NOID. The roses are all gorgeous.

Oh my what a great group. Prickly Sensation has a lot of buds yet to open. Same here with the hot and humidity too. Sunday weather will bring in a storm in the afternoon and cool us back down. I wanted to put down mulch but will wait till next week when we drop back into the 70's. I did put down milorganite on the gardenbed yesterday as I see we have rabbits, skunks and groundhogs around. No scapes that I can see so far.

This early heat and dry conditions have caused some bud drop and the heat/humidity becomes oppresive when trying to work in the gardens. Some relief next week.

Maryl, I have two clumps of Gwendolyn Rose, one gets afternoon shade and the other gets full afternoon sun. One holds color well-the one in full sun, not so much. The Reimer lilies have just begun sending up some scapes. They are not early bloomers!!

Nice group. I like Gwendolyn Rose the best. The Noid is second.
