Building a Home Design Dilemma DIY

Looking for an Architect

I know - that should be an obvious task. But where I live in NorCal, there is one locally and she isn't returning phone calls. I want to build a stone house. Need someone who can figure that out within seismic regs. I'm also open to an architect in Washington, Oregon, as I may be moving back up there.

For a stone house in a seismic zone, be thinking that the stone will be veneer and not load bearing. But even as veneer, that's a lot of dead load.

The architect might be able to engineer the structure, but you may have to find a structural or civil engineer in addition to the architect; but do not let the engineer design the architecture.
