How big is this area. Are you wanting to get rid of the pavers completely. A lot of the new builders in AZ are using them and these are not bad compared to some I've seen. They might even be the same or similar to the ones used on my house. I would think about keeping them and planting some amazing colorful pots with succulents and flowers. Maybe a bench along the wall under the window.

Green Things has some amazing pots and very knowledgeable people to help with plantings.

Thank you for quick reply. Current area is 9×13. We want walkway normal width of sidewalk and thought a combination of pots and flower bed might be more attrative.

You could also think about removing some of the pavers and adding trellis on garage wall.

Just be careful not to mess with the drainage for water to get to that drain. You don't want to have flooding in that area when it really rains.

Consider adding art or architectural elements to the walls, maybe a self-contained water feature. Trade out a few pavers for tiles, mosaics, or colored glass.
