Just to double-check... 10% of the standard 10% dilution available in the store (i.e. 1%) right? The SDS for a 10% ammonia solution tells us that the pH is roughly 11 (caustic enough to irritate and potentially burn tissues. A 1% ammonia drench should not be an issue, but at 10% ammonia (i.e. store-bought strength), I can totally see it causing burning.

I use vinegar and have no burning issues. Sorry your leaves burned……..:-(

I use ammonia and have not seen that. I suppose certain circumstances might do that.

I will correct my statement above…….yesterday I did my vinegar drenching finally and for the first ever, for some reason I also had some leaf damage. I was very surprised as I did not alter my mixture. Munchkin Fire was burned badly…….it was a cloudy day so i can’t say it was the sun.. Too late to take a photo. The only thing is they were drenched much later this year and were more leafed out rather than in pip stage. That can be all I think of.

No, not really, I just think they got ”drenched” when they were too leafed out, more so than a spray. Hasn’t happened before as I said….. 🤷🏼‍♀️
