Oh no, Debra! I am so sorry! That is just heartbreaking, eespecially getting all of Aunt Patsy and the Single Blue Swallowtail that you haven't even seen yet!

Debra, last year, Diver down did not impress me.nd I got the impression you felt the same way. It have improved dramatically although it is still shorter than the other Ladybug plants I got, but the bloom has been beautiful this year, and I hope yours is the same.

So sorry Debra! How do they know just which plants are most important to us? I don't have deer problems, knock on wood, but I have raccoons. #@%$&^.

My driver on the trip lives in Gallatin, we pulled up in her driveway, and a deer was nestled between the shrubs. It had pulled up several of her freshly planted little shrubs. She does not grow daylilies, but apparently still happened on deer food.

I read about people that have deer problems and I feel so sorry for them. Outside of tall electrified deer fencing, it's always going to be a year to year problem. It's got to be so frustrating for you Debra. Plus you have the grub problem. Kudos on your perseverance...........Maryl

Maryl - Yes, I have deer, groundhogs, rabbits, grubs, slugs and thrips every year.

Kay - I have been very impressed by Diver Down. It is shorter than my other Ladybug reds, but it is the best pod setter, and I just love that white watermark. I planted several seedlings from it last fall. It multiplies well and usually reblooms. If I were going to keep only one of my Ladybug reds, it would be Diver Down.

Yay! No sign of more deer predation, but the backyard smells like a garlic factory. I'm surprised the cats didn't leave.

I like the seedling both ways too. I hate that about your deer. I have been using Bobbex and Liquid Fence granules since scapes began. Last week, in my jungle bed, scapes were decapitated. I had not saturated it as much but still hated to lose the blooms-but at least they were older ones, not like your good ones. Hope yours got the message to move on!!

So sorry to hear about those $&£§ deer! I applaud your perseverence too……hoping for NO more unwanted visitors. the seedling looks wonderful both ways!

I feel your pain Debra with the deer issue. I went to get more Bobbex spray but the box store was out of it so I picked up the Liquid Fence and need to spread it today and then will spread milorganite on the outside edge of the garden grass area. Scapes are coming up and I don't want a repeat of last year.

I like your seedling with the intense color. Nice pattern on it.
