What about extending the cinder block part of the porch all the way to the left edge of the house. Then skim coat everything in the gold sand color of the steps. (I like the stencilled "pathway" design jimx suggestion.) Add a railing across the extended cinderblock front, add a couple colorful chairs, and start planning a cottage garden of evergreen shrubs, perennials, grasses, etc. to spiff up the front yard.

If this was mine I would run the porch all the way across the front with some nice seating and new landscaping.

I used to live in a row house, and every house in the row had cement steps and porch. My neighbor did vinyl tile, not a good idea IMHO--slippery! Some people did the carpet. IMHO, Less is more. There are great concrete paints to use. Easy peasy. Put down a small outdoor rug if you want some type of design, they make all kinds of rubber ones that even look like tile or marble. That way you're not invested so heavily. Save your money for making a bigger porch some day . . . Also extend a walkway to your driveway on the short bed side. Then you could maybe put a small concrete bench along there. We have one in front of our front door.

It is a cute house already but a front porch would really take it up a notch and it is nice to have cover over your front door in bad weather. I love the painting ideas that look like you have a runner on the stairs.

We all gave you nice idea how to spruce up front of your house in your previous post. Nothing has been done. :-((

@housegal200 I love the idea of extending the porch! I would love to have a covered porch too but it all seems like an expensive option. Would be quite a transformation though

@l pinkmountain Yup! Thanks for the advice. I'm leaning towards doing concrete paint or something similar for this year anyways. I can always extend it at a later point

@Celery. Visualization, Rendering images Hi again! I really appreciated all the advice from the other thread! Especially those rendering you did of the garden! I still refer back to those images for inspiration. This post was more specifically for the front steps and porch though. It's always interesting to see what other great options people come up with and there some great ones here! I have so many ideas for the house and definitely it's not a waste of time. Always appreciate the community here
