I would love a Swedish or Norwegian grandfather clock there. Look for a reproduction to simulate the look. Or hunt at Cherish and other antique sources.

I do agree with the others that you can easily do a console there with a hinge stop, and I think it would look really nice. Maybe a lamp on the end opposite the pantry, a mirror or some large art above it? One thing to be mindful of, as this is likely a pretty high-traffic area of your home. Console tables tend to become catch-all "drop zones" for all the stuff we bring in and out of the house throughout the day. If you already have another drop zone closer to your garage entry, then this likely won't be an issue for this table. But if you don't currently have a drop zone, this could easy become just that for you! I recommend getting some decorative trays (ceramic, acrylic, leather, etc) to contain the chaos, and just resign yourself to needing to clear the table off every day or two as things build up!

Also, I'd paint every white blip on that wall the color of the wall paint instead (or get matching wall plates) to decrease the unnecessary busy-ness.

Light switches seem placed ok for rectangular canvas art.

Could see good size for art by putting tape onto the wall, and look for that size.

Tall plant or go to a art fair and find a painting or sculpture that you find intriguing. Don’t add a table that will have to be dusted.

Good recommendation. I never would have thought about such a simple solution.

If you are getting a different door, I would get a pocket door. That way you could leave it open most of the time but close it for company. I think having the door opening away from the kitchen will make it less convenient getting items from the pantry. The hinge stop is the easiest solution though.

Yup I will have a little side console in the entryway as well to serve as my drop zone so hopefully this area won’t get too cluttered
