color driveway for red brickhouse

We are doing a new driveway. Widening the current one. The first picture is our house. The following picture is an idea for driveway style. We like the border in the side. Any advice on the color driveway that would compliment the red brick?

Show your driveway as it is now the inspo pic is of a very grand house and yours is not be careful the driveway is not too large for the house .For me your house needs a bit of TLC on the exterior like removing the shutters a new garage door with some windows more interesting landscping and a new front door. I would also replace the porch columns . Could you post a pic from further back showing your driveway that will get more help here for sure.

I like the color scheme of this second picture…but I’m not sure that would look good. I agree, we planned on new columns, new door, landscaping, but need to figure out that driveway first

Let’s see a picture of the current driveway so we can see how it approaches/relates to your house.

I just posted it. We really need a full front remodel on the house….I’m just not sure where to start

Pick a color that goes with black tire skid marks.

I have no idea where the concept that a driveway needs to coordinate with the color scheme of a house arises from. It doesn't!! All you need it to be is wide enough, durable and properly installed. A driveway is intended to be functional, not decorative!

The driveway should be the color of the material that has longevity and is easy to maintain.

If you live in an area that snows and you plow. This also needs to be a consideration. Plows take a toll on driveways.

If you are going to remodel the front of the house, I would tackle that first if it affects your driveway in some way. Does your driveway actually need redone at this point?

The above poster is correct. Tackle the remodel of the house first. The trucks that will come and go can do damage to the driveway also.

Why not do a plain concrete driveway with a 3' strip of brick inlaid about 5' back from the road and 2 brick entry columns with lights and then some brick accents for the front walkway. This could tie things together from the road to the house and not be overdone?

Your driveway doesn't seem to be redone. It appears to be in relatively good shape. I think if you are going to landscaping, do it then.

That’s a good idea. Thank you. Where would one look for ideas to update front of house ?? We have budgeted enough to update the front of house, landscaping, driveway…just not sure where or how to start

Agree with durability/longevity instead of a particular color. When you get around to the driveway, a brick border like the one on this walkway could be nice.
