Isabelle Rose is so well budded and such a good grower. So sturdy too. Won't be long and everyone will have it, though some people resist whites.

I think I get why you dont like Gee Six, a bit too wild and messy looking with that ruffled edge……I want to like it too, not happening yet. Glad you got a clean bloom on Bluegrass Shadows……so disappointing when those gorgeous ones are messy.

Isabelle Rose looks happy. Mine is just scaping. Coach's Magic Man is pretty too. I counted scapes on mine, last week there were 11 on 7 fans. Checked today there are 13 on those 7 fans, 3 on 1 fan. I like all your daylilies. Well, maybe not Gee Six, love the color, love the riffle, but somehow it does not work. Beautiful clump of Butterfy Moon.

Isabelle Rose is so pretty! I added that one last year, but it has not bloomed yet. That's a gorgeous photo of Shores of Time. I still consider it one of the best pinks around. My Bluegrass Shadows was not splotchy at all the first two years, but my first two blooms this week were ultra splotchy for some reason. Kara Louise is the one Hansen red that's never been splotchy for me - maybe being at the corner of my shed protects it from the dew. Yours looks a different shade of red from mine. I can understand why you added it if your daughter's name is Kara. The clump of Butterfly Moon looks fabulous. I got that one from Nancy last year as a healthy, robust plant, but it did not fare well in the potting soil I used to pot it. I put it in the ground last fall, and it still looks wimpy. No scapes yet, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Wonderful post. Like A Gee Six even appeals to me. If I had room, I'd offer to take it.

I was just talking to a rosarian friend of mine and couldn't remember the name of Summer Romance. I think that's the one you said was disease resistant for you? Good timing on posting it again.................You have so many in this batch I like. I don't remember seeing Coach's Magic Man before, and since you get real purple ( not maroon as we do), I will select that one as my favorite...........Maryl

Maryl, I took a hard look at Summer Romance when I took that photo and I can honestly say it has zero blackspot anywhere on it-an amazing feat for it considering our rain, heat, humidity!

Sherry, I know, right? Gee Six does have that messy look-the color is not saturated and it is taking up prime real estate!!

Debra, I hope Butterfly Moon survives for you. It is so pretty and tends to bloom in multiples which I like. Yes, I think the dew does impact Kara Louise but it is still a keeper for me! And if you should find room for Like a Gee Six, let me know. I will be thrilled to pass it along to you!!

I am always a little creeped out when I see the snake skin, but we are actually happy to see them in our garden. We hope they eat lots of voles. Bob found one and nudged it with his foot. This is what happened.

Aw, it is giving him a hug.... eek! I did rescue a rat snake from the cats last year. Won't be nudging them though!

I am sorry about Butterfly Moon, Debra. Mine is just putting out scapes, but only a couple so far.

I have to say that Isabella Rose does look very good. Why do you dislike Gee Six? The form? I always enjoy seeing the older daylilies . Sometimes the newer ones are just oo fussy. You creeped me out with the snake pic. Yuck.

I am glad I have good snakes in the garden but I don’t want to see them!!!

I need to get a close up picture of the Gee Six bloom-they look spotted and splotchy-like I said, no saturated color. The ruffles are thick so the blooms often hang up even in my heat.

I have looked at it several times, but it isn't supposed to do well in the south which really means nothing sometimes. Just send Like a Gee Six south and it will find a loving home blooming like that! Kara Louise will straighten herself up and behave; it does that at first, then pops out perfect blooms and lots of them. Mine is on rebloom now. Bluegrass Shadows is a lovely one and I am sorry it is splotching. This is a lovely post, kate.
