Hosing off is a classic remedy.

Now I know what to call it when I rub off aphids with my hand--the hand smush. I also use the hose as Sheila mentioned. Luckily if I wait a few days, hot dry weather arrives, and the blasted things dry up and die. Diane

Have you tried ladybugs?

I use both the hand smush and hose method. Then once the ladybugs and lacewings arrive, the aphids are gone. i used insecticidal soap but it burned the leaves and diatomaceaous earth didnt work.

Yes! Same experience with the soap so I don’t want to have to use that. I haven’t yet tried lady bugs. Will continue the smushings

Once you host ladybugs in your garden, you never have to worry about aphids again.
