I LOVE the yellows!

Today was such a perfect day in my gardens. The hosta have never looked better and I suppose they won't given wind storms with falling sticks, hail, slugs...who knows. It's been years since I took pictures. Today I couldn't resist.

another lover of yellow foilage here - to me, in my garden bordered by old growth firs, yellow looks like rays of sunshine! I do like all those little gnomes and monks you have scattered about tending to the hostas!

Sherry, I do not know of a Coast to Coast close to us...they might not be in MN anymore???? 20 years ago I worked for a mom and pop greenhouse. The owner became a friend and he shared many of what grew in his home garden with me. Once upon a time they were all labeled and or mapped but time and re-arranging ended my ability to keep track of what's what. Last fall I shared much with a gal and her new property. She fussed and worried my beds would look so picked over. I assured her this spring no one would ever know we filled your van three times!! Hosta's are great that way, they heal themselves right away.

I noticed a solid yellow sport emerging from my Atlantis and I isolated it over the weekend into a pot. I wonder if had reverted back to Sun Power? Regardless, i am happy for the new hosta and will challenge it to see how it does in the pot this year on a sunny patio, and if it succeeds, will plant it out in a full sun garden next spring.

As I was fighting ferns the other day I too noted a few sports emerging on solid hosta...It's on my list to go back and isolate them too. It's fun to see what occurs naturally over time.
