Adenia venenata, tips?

I have had a 4’ tall speciman for a year now (purchased mail order bare root), zero leaves, zero new growth in that year.

The trunk and small stems are still of good green color and rigid so feel this is an extended dormancy.

Kept in a very bright window. I add a bit of water now and then but overall have kept it fairly dry.

I’d like to see it wake up before giving it a good drink.

Any thoughts or tips? Thanks.

It should be growing now, so I'd guess the lack of water is inhibiting the growth of new foliage. OTOH, plants can take a while adjusting to their new circumstances, particularly as adult specimens. As long as the weather is warm and bright, I'd water it mightily.

Ok thanks, I was afraid to over water! I killed a 3’ Aloe dichotoma from the same order with overwatering so have been suoer careful. Thanks again
