In the Pink Today

Despite another cool night and poor openings for many blooms, I had pinks who just laughed at the weather.

Carolina Pale Face, always a favorite, had its ffo.

Bubblegum Delicious, another favorite, took until 9 to open.

Seedling Grandma's Smile x Bubblegum Delicious had the best opening in the garden today. (So of course I had to post it again. LOL) Open flat at 7 a.m. with no splotches. I'm ready for closeup, she whispered.

Dancing Flamingo x UF ffo - This Amazon Woman has 40 inch scapes with 10 inch blooms. Takes after grandmother Webster's Pink Wonder.

Dust Be Diamonds x Tuxedo Junction ffo

Landon Lee kid - The other parent is either Cobraskin Necktie or Milennium Falcon.

This seedling showed teeth last year, so the teeth are heat dependent. It was a lovely color yesterday.

Untamed Heart kid - not the colors I was expecting but attractive. I'm not sure what the other parent is since the label is missing. I think it was So Irresistible.

Mystical Intuition looking more pink than lavender today.

Bluegrass Shadows - I'm not sure if I'll get a clean bloom on this one. This is the sixth and best bloom so far. (The one I posted yesterday is a different Pierce purple.) I did not have problems with splotches the previous two years. So insect spray is needed.

How neat that it is so big and tall! That seedling you did not name is a really gorgeous color. nice if it kept that color, teeth oa very pretty in pink post.

kayr not. Carolina Pale Face is pretty, but so is seedling Grandma's Smile x Bubblegum Delicious.

I like your Bubblegum Delicious better than its mama, yours seems a bit more refined. i might have said this already but I hope Blurgrass Shadows shapes up for you, it’s such a pretty bloom.

Love Carolina Pale Face, it seems to have more color than I remember? Mystical Intuition is very pretty. Bluegrass Shadows is one I would love to have, not if it splotches, but you think it is due to insects? Your seedlings always look great, I think your Grandma's Smile and Landon Lee kids are my favorite.

Debra, that's a lovely group of seedlings. I really like the Landon Lee kid and the Grandma's Smile kid. You know I love the pink ones and always like Caroline Pale Face when you post it.

By the way, we can't wait to see Dearest Valentine. It's looking good this year.

Nan - I'm glad to see Dearest Valentine is looking good for you. Rosie Cotton's Ribbons started blooming yesterday, but the blooms could never fully open because of the cool night. Hotter days are on the way this week, so I should be able to get a pic of it soon.

Nancy - Carolina Pale Face always has plenty of color. The petal color might be a tad darker because of the cool temps. I do think Bluegrass Shadows' problem is insects which I will not name, or I will get a message from Dick. After all, I had not problems with splotchiness the first two years.

Carolina Pale Face is a favorite! So pretty and pink. Still really liking the Grandma’s Smile seedling. But, lots of good things to say about the Dancing Flamingo seedling. Always good to describe a seedling as Amazon woman!! Here are two of your seedlings having an early morning chat.

I always like your pinks and I think Carolina Pale Face is my favorite in this group today. However I'm also drawn to Mystical Intuition. The pattern looks so good in your cooler weather. Sweet.......................Maryl

Your pinks look very good. Grandma's Smile x Bubblegum Delicious has a nice ruffling on it.
