Changing wall color

Hi! Tired of the red dining room walls after 16 years. Thinking of doing a rich, bold jewel tone color in an eggshell, velvety finish..any ideas or tips on paint color and/or furniture placement? My chandelier is getting hung soon but wanted to make sure about exact table and rug position first. I thought of moving large furniture piece to where I have plates hung and then move table and rug over....then I can do a bolder wall of plates like in sample photo on large, blank wall? I like the rich wall color in inspiration photos. Smaller dining rooms look cozy and chic in rich colors. Thanks in advance!
