This week’s project — cabinet wallpaper

I’ve been thinking about doing this for a couple of years but never found a paper that worked color/style-wise when I’d sporadically browse the wallpaper sites. Finally found one that worked (I wanted a floral in greens, turquoise and a bit of yellow) but then just stared at the roll for a month or two as it sat in the foyer. With DH out of town for a few days, I decided to get it done without him lurking and trying to help!

Peel & stick paper is from Anthro. It is 1/2” too narrow but no one can tell unless they’re really nosy.

Cookbooks go on the bottom shelf but I decided to spend some time today browsing them for new ideas so they’re still piled on the kitchen table.

I love the look! If someone is nosy enough to look in the corners, you could head them of by adding a bit of trim, just a narrow bit or a small quarter-round. But, really, no one will notice unless you point it out.

Bpath, it’s not as if anyone goes poking around in there lol. Really can’t tell with the doors closed.

Jinx, it’s basically like contact paper. Kind of tricky with a 54” long sheet but I just peeled off about 12-18” of backing at a time and it wasn’t too hard.

The first pic was so pretty, I assumed it was a magazine shoot showing what you planned to do.

So pretty! Love the pattern and colors. Reminds me of what deVOL sometimes does to cupboards.

I did something similar in the 90s to our first china cabient with mirrored back and glass shelves. i was tired of the mirror, so I made patterns with posterboard and covered with fabric. Used double sided tape to adhere to mirrors without hurting them, and easy removal.

Thank you @Sueb20. *Snort* I'm not sure if I am being sarcastic in saying that or not. LOL Because I probably DO NOT need another project right now, but I have been looking through Market Place for either a vintage bookcase or cabinet so I can do this. I have the perfect place in the guest bedroom. I'm sure my husband thanks you too. hee hee

(I almost did this once to the back of a cabinet in my dining room, which houses mainly white ironstone. I was going to do how Mt. did, not on the actual back of the cabinet.)

    Thanks again, everyone!

Tina, I did the back wall of a weird shallow closet in our dining room too. (I think this was once the door to the powder room.) This was right after we moved in.

These shelves aren’t movable so I had to cut pieces to fit in between them.

I remember that! ive got nessages in to 3 peeps regarding bookshelves 😂 🤪

Sue, what is that wall panel beneath your cow picture? Is it a wall heater?

Thanks for the additional picture, Sue—therer they are 😁 On my ipad these first pics look completely off white and I thought I must have missed something important!

Rather, yes, it’s Runtal (sp?) heating. Installed by previous owner. The rest of the house has original radiators.
