Why do you believe they need pruning?

I just thought after they finish glowing I should deadhead them. And it is getting a little bit and woody at the base

Those look to be Marguerite daisies, Argyranthemum spp. These are generally used as annual/seasonal bedding plants but in most cases are in fact a tender perennial subshrub in the correct zones (9 and above). In those locations where they are perennial they will develop a woody base and can get leggy and unkempt looking.

You can improve the looks temporarily by shearing back by a third after flowering but any hard pruning - down into the woody portion - is best left until autumn.

And since they are a semitropical plant and relatively easily damaged by winter cold, it would be a good idea to take cuttings for insurance at that time.
