Things are heating up here in more ways than one

The temperatures are up again and the number of flowers opening is also up. It's up to 95 right now but the humidity is not as bad as it was last week. Unfortunately, that means we won't get any of those pop-up storms and we desperately need the rain.

Bucklebury Ferry made a nice clump shot today.

This is Smooth Kentucky Bourbon.

Dragon Master is finally showing good color. It took it years to show red that was not washed out in the eye. For a while I thought it was misnamed. Now it looks correct.

I should have taken out the dead flower at the top. This is Jammin's Lipstick Kisses.

Gift of Life is a small-flowered diploid from Kathleen Nordstrom. I really like it and can't wait until it grows into a clump.

This photo shows Heavenly Pink Angel prettier than it really is. The color is muddy in person. I'll breed it with something with a strong clear color in hopes of improving it.

Mayan Warrior started blooming today.

Rosemarie Louise took its sweet time getting established. It's been in the garden three years now and this is the first good flower we have had. Bob suggested last fall that it was time for it to go, but we never got around to digging it up--glad we didn't.

It was a good day in the seedling beds. Bob and I agree that this is seedling Queen for the day. It is Wolverine X (Sea of Cinders X Happy Holidays to You). It's a two year old plant with a nicely branched scape maybe about 36 inches tall.

We liked the color on this one--Bob Marley X Unknown. The pollen parent is a Noid

I might have posted this one before, but this flower in much improved in shape. This is the darkest of the Pink Stripes X Perfect Pose seedlings. It is similar to Pink Stripes but the petals are broader.

This seedling has wonderfully clean crisp colors. It is TrueNorth Eye in the Sky X Cherry Pie a la Mode.

I am really enjoying the little diploid seedlings. This one is Nutmeg Elf X Out of Balance.

We like a dark daylily too. This is Tom Adams X Snidely Whiplash.

Things are indeed heating up! Bucklebury Ferry is a great clump. I really like the coloring on Gift of Life. It will be lovely in a clump, no doubt. Mayan Warrio is an eye catching sight, and I particularly like the seedlings Wolverine X (Sea of Cinders X Happy Holidays to You). and Bob Marley X Unknown. Lots of my kind of colors today and RoseMarie Louise looks good too.

Rosemarie Louise looks really nice. I got that one last fall. 1st blooms looked just OK, but I have gotten a few that looked good. Blackberry Ferry is striking, and I like the look of Gift of Life. Love the seedling Queen.

You certainly have gotten your monies worth out of Sea of Cinders. So many attractive oranges. I like your dark one too, Tom Adams X............. Jammin's Lipstick Kisses also catches my eye.......................Maryl

I really enjoy seeing your seedlings. I know how much work you and Bob do to grow them and it looks like all the hard work is paying off. Wolverine X (Sea of Cinders X Happy Holidays to You) and Bob Marley X Unknown are wonderful.

What a clump of Buckleberry Ferry! Really fetching!! Gift of Life is a cutie. Although not yet a fan of the stripes your seedling looks better than most because of those wider petals. The Queen looks good today.

The Wolverine seedling is looking very good. W seems worthwhile just as a breeder! Thanks for posting some cultivars I've seldom seen.

Buckleberry Ferry looks fantastic in that clump. Rosemarie Louise is gorgeous. I know you're happy you didn't part with that one. The seedling queen has a winning look for sure!
