Some flowers after the rain

The flowers were a little beaten up this morning after the rain last night, but you won't hear any complaints from me. I don't know how much we got because the rain came in the middle of the night. The flowers, even with some bruising and spotting, looked much happier this morning.

We have had Fringed Catawba forever, it seems, but we rarely notice it. It was nice today.

Laurelwood's Ankle Biter opened its first flower today.

Let's get right to the seedlings. This hopefully is a future intro. It is Sea of Cinders X Happy Holidays to You. We move it last fall and it was a tiny little thing--maybe three fans, but it is 6-8 now, putting out six scapes. It's the brightest red in the garden.

This is an offspring of the previous one--crossed to Wolverine. It's a big flower on a tall scape.

This one is Pineapple Bites X Wandering Werribee.

Now for some dark seedlings. This is Von Rock X Snidely Whiplash. Please pardon the stick in front of the flower. This one was hard to get to (the rows are so conguested, it's hard to walk down them without breaking scapes.

This one is Purple Peek-a-boo X Burning the Midnight Oil.

I am not sure I like this color, but this is a large bloom. It is Sonoran Desert Rose X Crimson Stories.

More nice seedlings…I like the color of The Purple Perk A Boo baby. your Sea of Cinders baby is my favorite today, so bright!

When I looked at the radar last evening I was sure you were getting some rain too, 5/8” here last night, hurray!

Hey! Whoopie on the rain. We had a couple of clouds this evening and I was thrilled for even that.............My favorite seedling is Peek a Boo X Burning the Midnight oil. I'm liking your purple seedlings this year. I hope if you name them though you make the name shorter.................... Laurelwood's Ankle Biter looks to be a winner too. One of my favorite combos is pink with bright yellow edging.......

Sea of Cinders X Happy Holidays to You is gorgeous! It's "offspring" is pretty too,but it is the top to me. I do like the color of Sonoran Desert Rose X Crimson Stories and a big flower is even better. Pineapple Bites X Wandering Werribee. is a pretty one, and both dark seedlings are too. Very nice post. I really like those, and I have just added a good bit of growing space next to the right front bed.

I'm with Maryl and the Purple Peekaboo/Midnight Oil seedling. Purples here have had to deal with a lot of wilting heat.

Your seedlings look good, I really like that 1st one, along with the Purple Peekaboo seedling. No rain for me, there was a big circle of no rain. But at least it is a wonderfully comfortable day.

All are lovely but that seedling Sea of Cinders X Happy Holidays to You is one I would love to get once you register it. It just has a wow factor and nothing I've grown before.
