Soaker hoses work much better than sprinklers on daylilies because you target the moisture and reduce evaporation. I have them in two beds, but I wish I had them in all. I have a variety of types, and they all work well. Attach them to the ground around each plant with landscape staples an inch or two from the fans. You need to have the hose on for three to four hours for a good soaking since they only drip water.

I used to freeze pollen, but I don't remember all the particulars of how I did it. Do a search on freezing pollen. If you only need pollen for a few days, you can take the bloom off, put it a cup of water and store it in the fridge.
