Ah interesting difference in bloom color from the more common hoya bella. Hoya bella hates me. So you have some voodoo magic that I do not possess!

popmama, I chalk it up to our cool climate in San Francisco. I can grow the high-elevation stuff.

Bill, the fragrance is barely detectable, much less than a normal bella/lanceolata.

It is currently growing in pure coarse perlite; after nearly loosing it twice in a super chunky mix, I kept the rooted bits in perlite. I feed it often. Now that it seems to be happy I will take cuttings and pot the main plant into a mix with some organic matter.

Doug warned me this would be a fussbudget.

iochroma, do you keep it outside? I literally live in high elevation and can't keep bella alive!

Pop, no, they live in an East window, which is often cracked at night. Our night temp.s are usually in the 50’s, and days are rarely above 75 deg.

The native humidity is generally high, which is a big help. I know from living at high elevation that the humidity is generally low, and hard to move upward.

So pretty! I have some hoya cuttings thriving in perlite that I'm afraid to transplant. Do you keep any other hoya in pure perlite? I was wondering if mine might decline eventually but maybe they'll be fine with the right watering and fertilization.

SunFleur - this is the only one. Once I have some cuttings rooted (in perlite) I will move the main plant to a chunky mix with sphagnum.
