I have considered two linear lights over the table if I need to. I do want to preserve the water view so I don't want anything that hangs down or is too big. Thank you very much for the help. I appreciate it.

The room is not built yet, unfortunately. The ceilings will be 9 feet. I’ve read that a linear light should be 1/3 to 1/2 of the table length. I’m not sure that will give enough light to the ends of the table. Thanks again for your input.

hmmm what style is your home.. also I would say add 4 can lights. and yes provided you are trying to eat at the table and not do chores it should be ample in fact I would make sure to put dimmers.
